Cornerstone Heroes: BECOMING is a year-long, monthly gathering for veterans, military members, first responders, spouses, and teens who are navigating change and looking for connection, guidance, and forward movement.
This program is the first in a three-part Cornerstone Heroes trilogy: BECOMING, MOMENTUM, and VITALITY. Now in its fifth year, BECOMING focuses on reflection, personal growth, and building a strong foundation for what comes next.
Participants are invited to explore questions such as:
Who were you? Who are you now? Who do you want to become?
BECOMING meets once a month in a supportive, small-group setting. Each session is facilitated by Sara McAvoy, a licensed counselor, Army Veteran, and military spouse. Sessions include guided discussion, reflection, and shared experiences, with an emphasis on peer support and personal insight.
This program is not clinical therapy, but it is intentionally designed for those moving through a life or chapter transition and seeking encouragement, perspective, and community. Additional mentoring and resources are available for participants who would like support between sessions.
This class may be a good fit if you are:
-
Experiencing a major life or chapter change
-
Feeling stuck or unsure of your next step
-
Navigating trauma, grief, illness, or family challenges
-
Seeking meaningful connection and fellowship
If you are unsure whether this program is right for you, we encourage you to reach out to talk through your questions.
